PSB staff were able to tour the facility and see what it takes to help provide food for over 300 families that reside in the Portage County area. The Interfaith Food Pantry offers services the 2nd and 4th Tuesday every month. Items distributed include meat, dairy, fresh produce, bread, canned goods, and personal items. Food sources include Feeding America, local churches, community organizations, food drives, individuals, business donations and local purchases.

In honor of Veterans Day that was on November 11th – We would like to give a special thank you to our very own Veterans here at Peoples State Bank. Your bravery, sacrifice, and strength do not go unnoticed. Craig Lau: Had a total of 22 years of service; 6 years active-duty Army, 16 years Army National Guard, and retired as a Sergeant First Class. 3 combat tours. He joined in 1985 at 17 years old and retired in 2007. He served in 9 different countries - Middle East, South America, Europe. MOS (Military Occupational Skill) was a 12Bravo Combat Engineer, and only 7 countries. Colby Sievert: Spent 8 years in the Army Reserve from 2009-2017 and discharged as a Specialist. He served for the 397th Engineer Battalion Headquarters Unit in Eau Claire, WI for 3 ? years. Then transferred to the 428th Engineer Company in Brokaw, WI for 2 ? years. He spent the remaining 2 years of his career with the 376th Financial Management Support Unit in Brokaw, WI. His specialties in the Army were 92Y Unit Supply Specialist & 36B Financial Management Technician. Tou Ger: ? Rank: Staff Sergeant ? Branch: WI Army National Guard ? Northwoods Veterans Homestead is a non-profit organization that was formed in order to build a tiny home village for homeless veterans located on River Bend Road just outside of Rhinelander. It consists of a community center and 16 tiny homes where homeless Veterans can live temporarily for free, while receiving case management services to become self-sufficient.
