🎂 Happy 50th birthday to us! On this day in 1975, People Working Cooperatively was founded! 🧰 Throughout these last five decades, our staff, volunteers, and community members have dedicated their time, effort, dollars, and hearts to helping neighbors in need. We are beyond proud to be able to celebrate 50 years of strengthening homes, families, and communities right here in Greater Cincinnati. Thank you all for being a part of this incredible journey and for all the support along the way. Here's to 50 more! 🌟

People Working Cooperatively Inc. provides critical home repairs and services to low income, elderly and disabled homeowers who are often faced with illness, disability or simple old age, and do not have the resources to keep their home safe. Our core services are critical home repairs, energy conservation, and home modifications, provided at no cost to the homeowner in the 20 county greater Cincinnati, northern Kentucky and western Indiana areas. Our typical client earns about $13,000 a year. We employ 120 full time professionals and have a dedicated volunteer corps of about 3,500 people from all walks of life all who serve over 14,000 clients annually. We also have a social enterprise, Whole Home, that provides home modifications for people at any income level with the ability to pay. All profits go back into PWC's non-profit Modifications for Mobility program. For more information about PWC or Whole Home please visit pwchomerepairs.org and wholehome.org. We value your support!

Imagine the daily challenge of carrying your son with cerebral palsy up and down stairs. He faces constant obstacles—unable to walk, talk, or see clearly—making navigation of a tri-level home difficult. This was the reality for one local family until the generosity of our community at ToolBelt Ball made a transformative difference in their lives. Thanks to the funds raised last year, we provided an accessible bedroom and bathroom for their son, along with a custom ramp—all at no cost to the family. With your help, we can continue to help our neighbors in need when you donate to PWC: https://lnkd.in/gRSkwGEf 🎥: Spotted Yeti Media

ICYMI: PWC was recently included in CET (Cincinnati Educational Television)’s podcast episode of Brick By Brick where our work preserving existing housing through critical home repairs, was part of a larger story on the importance of housing preservation. Now, you can catch us on TV, too! At PWC, we know that preserving our existing housing is a smart and cost-effective way to combat the lack of affordable housing. We work each day to provide free home repair services for neighbors who otherwise would not be able to afford them so that they can stay in their homes. Tune into CET PBS on Thursday, February 20 at 9 p.m. to learn more about the programs and organizations like PWC that work tirelessly to preserve homes in the fight for more affordable housing.

Donating to PWC helps local homeowners stay safely in their homes, like our client Sherrie. Sherrie had not been able to get out of her home under her own power since 2020. With the help of volunteers and donations, we were able to build a wheelchair-accessible ramp so that Sherrie could reclaim her independence! Give a gift today so we can continue to help more homeowners in our community: https://lnkd.in/gRSkwGEf
