Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts "Blue Crew" associates carefully assembled and checked monocular scopes ("Foldscopes") so that a classroom of middle school students in Boston Public Schools will have hands-on opportunities to discover the microscopic world as part of the Next Generation Science Standards with these innovative tools. Thanks to everyone who volunteered and @Pauline Murnin for making this possible! https://lnkd.in/eNwrp3sb #science #volunteersmakeadifference

Community Service Projects - PMD’s well planned projects engage 500 volunteers/yr in meaningful, hands-on work that effectively meets real needs and educates volunteers about the context of their work. Participants consistently feel energized and motivated from making a difference via PMD. People Making a Difference (PMD) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes informed and responsible volunteerism by involving people in tangible work that meets local needs and by assisting companies in building successful community involvement programs that: -Produce appreciable results while conserving recipients’ limited resources -Educate volunteers about broader issues -Bring people together to make a difference Corporate Partnerships - PMD partners with businesses to identify clear objectives and then to develop appropriate employee volunteer opportunities.
