Congratulations to Maj. Michael Calnan, Marine Corps Recruiting Information Support System (MCRISS) Legacy Project Officer for PEO MLB’s Marine Corps Manpower IT Systems Modernization (MITSM) portfolio, on receiving the 2024 A. Bryan Lasswell Award for Fleet Support during the National Defense Industrial Association - (NDIA) San Diego’s Defense and Industry Fall Forum on Nov. 5! Maj. Calnan led an Integrated Product Team to support modernization efforts for MCRISS by managing a challenging, but ultimately successful hardware and operating system upgrades and a technical refresh. The Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC) relies on MCRISS-Legacy to manage its recruiting mission. Over the past two decades, MCRISS-Legacy’s system performance has become unreliable. Recruiters often spend excessive time manually inputting data into the system and experience significant system timeouts, causing data entry delays during critical end-of-month recruiting mission periods. Maj. Calnan provided critical oversight that helped mitigate MCRISS cybersecurity vulnerabilities and resolve end-of-life hardware and operating system issues. He initiated a modernization program to replace the MCRISS-Legacy system. Maj. Calnan led the solicitation, source selection, and award of an Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreement to develop a new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application to deliver a Minimal Viable Product (MVP) to the government in just over a year. Bravo Zulu Maj. Calnan! #PEOMLB #MITSM #MCRISS Christine Rodriguez, Mary Thoms, Robert Bailey, USMC, PMP, Lou Peradotto, Marine Corps Systems Command

Marine Corps Logistics Integrated Information Solutions (#LI2SMC) completed a successful Field User Evaluation (FUE) of the upgraded Denied, Degraded, Intermittent, and Low-bandwidth Marine Corps Logistics (DDIL MC Log) software application at Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Agency (MCTSSA), with Fleet Marine Force participants from 1st Marine Logistics Group. DDIL MC Log allows the USMC to conduct requests to the Global Combat Support System – Marine Corps (GCSS-MC) by storing and synchronizing data when reliable data connections are poor or unavailable due to network conditions. During the FUE, LI2S-MC validated the updated multi-org version of the application. This updated version of DDIL MC Log enables GCCS-MC support in a disconnected environment to a composite task organized unit in the same manner that an operational Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) is structured for deployment. #PEOMLB #LI2SMC Christine Rodriguez, Mary Thoms, Margaret "Peggy" Toth, Michael Buccola, Marine Corps Systems Command

In August, Marine Corps Logistics Integrated Information Solutions (LI2S-MC), in collaboration with? Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), facilitated?tests for the latest version of the Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES) — the DoD’s force deployment application. ICODES is an essential application that ensures effective transportation planning in both peacetime and wartime operations. The DoD uses ICODES to automate load planning and track cargo movements across land, air, and sea. The September ICODES deployment includes updates and new features to enhance functionality for planners and operators. The team updated two ICODES modules — the Sea Service Deployment Module (SSDM) and the Single Load Planner (SLP) — making it easier to generate documentation required for the military unit move process. New features include:? ?? A new interface with the Consolidated Air Mobility Planning System (CAMPS) Increment 1 (Inc 1) to transfer unit deployment airlift request data and all supporting airlift documentation to CAMPS Inc 1, and feed data into the U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM) system for sourcing and scheduling aircraft. ?? The Joint Equipment Characteristics Database (JECD) module, a new prime repository for cargo characteristics of all equipment across the DoD. Required to process cargo for transportation,? relocating cargo characteristic data to the ICODES application will allow personnel to use it across all ICODES modules — enabling more precise unit deployment planning.? ?? A new Training and Resource tab offering computer-based training modules featuring step-by-step videos on various ICODES capabilities, helping users better utilize and navigate the system. #PEOMLB #LI2SMC Christine Rodriguez, Mary Thoms, Margaret "Peggy" Toth, Michael Buccola, Marine Corps Systems Command, Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC)
