?? Scaling retail media isn’t as simple as flipping a switch. ?? Retailers want in, CPGs are ready to invest—but many hit a wall when trying to grow beyond the basics. At eCommerce Expo in Berlin, our EMEA Sales Director, Emma Helsloot, sat down with Delivery Hero’s Baradwaaj Ramanujam to unpack what’s holding retailers back and how to break through. Here’s what stood out: ?? Retailers struggle with internal structures. Many try to expand existing teams instead of building dedicated ad sales orgs, leading to conflicts between commerce and media goals. ?? Tech decisions are pivotal. In-house vs. external solutions? The right call determines how fast—and how well—you scale. ?? Paid and organic should work together. Ads aren’t just about revenue; when done right, they actually enhance product discovery. ?? Relevance is everything. Retailers already have the data. The winners will be those who use it (with the right ad server) to balance personalization, scale, and ad quality.
