In late May, our team gathered in the vibrant city of Chicago for our annual staff retreat. It was a perfect blend of professional development, team bonding, and exploring the best of Chicago. We kicked off our retreat with a series of informative workshops that sparked creativity and collaboration, equipping us with fresh insights to bring back to the office. The sessions were both enlightening and engaging, setting the tone for a productive retreat. We also took the opportunity to visit some of the properties in our portfolio, where we were graciously hosted by the talented BH Management Services team. Their insights and hospitality made these visits incredibly valuable and enjoyable. For a bit of fun, we also attended the Chicago Cubs vs. Atlanta Braves game at iconic Wrigley Field and learned about Chicago’s rich architectural history while cruising along the Chicago River. The retreat not only strengthened our team spirit but left us inspired and rejuvenated. Yesterday Pensam closed an $8,500,000 preferred equity investment to support the recapitalization of The Residences at Wash Brook, a newly constructed luxury apartment community located in Bloomfield, Connecticut. Ray Cleeman, Head of Capital Market and Lending at Pensam, commented that he was particularly excited at the opportunity to have had Pensam participate in the financing of this class “A” apartment community. He further stated that the firm has been incredibly active in providing ‘lease-up’ lending solutions which have enabled sponsors to raise additional capital as they approach TCO on their construction projects, all the way through the lease-up and stabilization process of multifamily assets.
