Today, Commissioner Katie Zerfuss, Charece Z. Collins and Kate McMullen toured the Derry Township Clearwater Road Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF). They learned how WWTF treats over 5 million gallons of wastewater daily. In addition, they also saw first-hand the state-of-the-art technology used to create biogas that, in turn, provides heat & power for their operations and adds excess electricity back to the grid. The Clearwater Road WWTF takes a proactive approach to sustainability and reaching net-zero energy, resulting in significant annual cost savings and environmental benefits.
