United Airlines Flight 93 crashed in a field in Stonycreek Township, Pa., after passengers heroically fought back and attacked the aircraft's hijackers. This PA State Police recording, preserved by The State #Archives, focuses on the Flight 93 crash site on Sept. 11, 2001, mentioning the possibility of potential biohazard concerns. #OnThisDay, #NeverForget

On Sept. 10, 1897, sheriff's deputies fired upon immigrant coal miners who had marched to Lattimer, Pa. in support of higher wages & better working conditions. This massacre, one of the most serious acts of violence in American labor history, left at least 19 people dead & scores of others wounded. Photographer Henry Dryfoos used the lens attached to this camera, preserved by Pennsylvania Anthracite Heritage Museum, to capture the miners moments before and after the massacre.
