Congratulations to the city of Scranton and Mayor Paige Cognetti for receiving the Governor’s Award for Local Government Excellence! Scranton was nominated for its fiscal improvements by PEL’s Patty Moorhead, who helped the city exit Act 47 and is currently working with them to achieve continued financial sustainability. Congratulations also to Mayor Michele Bannon, the city of Carbondale and NeighborWorks for receiving a Local Government Excellence award for the Beautiful Blocks program!
