"In this program, we approach behavioral and decision sciences in terms of what someone is doing and why they do it- and then we discover what we can do to effect change." - Dr. Cristina Bicchieri, Program Director ! cristina bicchieri

What a great workshop! We were thrilled to host Andrés Oliveros González and so grateful he could bring us Astrolab's INSPIRA learnings.
Astrolab - Helping leaders build Storytelling for Influence skills - LinkedIn Top Voice - UPenn Alumni
Will AI change how we build relationships and influence people? Yesterday, a part of the Penn Master of Behavioral and Decision Sciences community showed up to a 1-day version of INSPIRA, Astrolab's storytelling for influence workshop I facilitated at the University of Pennsylvania. For me, this was a really big milestone. It is the first INSPIRA ever in the Northeast coast, and the first at Penn. It also happened just a couple of days before other major milestones in my life. Tomorrow I’ll turn forty ??, and the day after that I’ll graduate from the Master of Behavioral and Decision Sciences. After morning coffee ? , we discussed how to use connection and origin stories to build liking and trust during work interactions, job interviews and networking events. Then, after pretty good tacos ??, we spent the afternoon playing with the Playbook, a checklist that helps you prepare for a conversation, and PERA, an acronym that stands for Point, Reason, Reason and Action. Both the Playbook and PERA are designed to make it easier for you to be more clear, relevant and memorable while sharing an idea. We spent some time answering the question that opened this post. Yes, AI will definitely have an impact on how to do these things. It can make us find a better way of structuring our thoughts, maybe even live rehearse and practice with applications such as the brand new GPT-4o. But we also agreed that the uniqueness of human experience, with all of its fragility, messiness and expiration, make human interactions, well, unique. So, double down on your ability to connect and influence if you want to have a greater impact personally and professionally. And don't forget to tell stories! Thanks to all of you that showed up! #storytelling
