Allegheny County residents deserve clear air! With local industrial polluters – like US Steel – continually polluting our air, the health of our Allegheny residents and our ability to monitor pollution levels are at risk. We need to hold air polluters accountable, and?we have the opportunity to at the upcoming Allegheny County Council meeting. There is hope for better: as soon as next Tuesday, March 25th, Allegheny County Council has the opportunity to increase permit fees through a vote. So, we need all the help we can to let the County Council know that this increase can improve our communities’ quality of life –?consider showing up to support the increase! We’re inviting community partners and environmental advocates – including you! – to our Pittsburgh Downtown Office at 3:30pm before the Allegheny County Council meeting on March 25th, which starts at 5:00pm. The materials produced by Butler Works are vital to American infrastructure and to our way of life. The company is the only electric steel manufacturer left in the U.S. Without it, everything they produce would come from China. So, what kept their electric steel from being produced overseas? A U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) grant & the grit of its union workforce. With federal funding, the plant is investing in technology upgrades that are making it more competitive and helping to ? Keep Jobs Here in Pennsylvania ? — not sending them overseas to China. See how federal investments in clean energy are fueling job creation across Appalachia! https://lnkd.in/dxte_K29 Cleveland-Cliffs | ReImagine Appalachia #CIPPPA
