Last month, Penn Engineering welcomed the second cohort of Widjaja Entrepreneurship Fellows. The highly selective, year-long program invites students to engage directly with startups and venture firms through internships and mentorships, giving the Fellows unparalleled opportunities to blend engineering and business. Fellows also spend their first semester walking through the process of building a startup, guided by Tom Cassel (ME’68, GME’73, Gr’79), Practice Professor in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics, founder of Engineering Entrepreneurship (EENT) at Penn and the program's primary instructor. “I’ve seen firsthand how the intersection of entrepreneurship and technology has transformed lives, even in emerging markets,” says Sugi Widjaja (EE'00), who, along with his spouse, Millie Wan (W'01), endowed the program. “I want Penn students, especially engineering students, to imagine what’s possible. This program creates space for them to envision how they can use their skills and education to change the world.” Learn more about what it's like to be a Widjaja Entrepreneurship Fellow: https://lnkd.in/eUdQ3wAQ ??
