Katherine Schreiner and Avery Beller have both recently taken on editorial internships with The Downtown State College Improvement District, a non profit organization that works to promote local businesses in downtown State College. Avery writes the business spotlights, highlighting new and developing businesses, anniversaries, and events. Katherine writes a weekly blog about the fun elements of the State College community. Welcome back to another fall semester! This year, our team is so excited to change things up a bit with a rebranding, including blog posts and an updated website! Here is our first blog post with many more to come! Gracie Watkins https://lnkd.in/dBCFuREr

Last Tuesday, 21 members and exec took a trip to New York City to meet with The Today Show and Marathon Digital!! We started our morning at The Today Show in the live audience for the 1st and 2nd hours of the live recordings. After this, we met with PSU Alum Arianna Davis and her digital team to learn about their day-to-day work as well as hear some really amazing tips and advice for working in the industry, going through college, entering the industry, etc. We then had the opportunity to get a tour of the NBC studios! Later in the day, we met at the Walter Kerr Theatre to speak with Mike Karns another PSU Alum, to learn about Marathon Digital as a premiere social media agency working for some of the biggest broadway shows in the industry including Hamilton, Hadestown, and Mamma Mia. The Walter Kerr Theatre is the theatre that is currently running Hadestown, so it was really cool to be able to see the stage and set design in person! We are all so thankful to everyone we met on this trip and for all the advice we were given. We had so much fun with our members and we cannot be more excited for what our trip could bring for us all!

Ed2010 had the honor of speaking with PSU Alum Lauren Wysseier about her role as Influencer Coordinator at poppi. She also spoke about her time at Penn State, her creative poppi-themed resume that got her to where she is today with the company, and also provided our members with some key learning tips! What is Penn State Ed2010? Ed2010 is a student organization at Penn State University that is geared towards networking and professional development for those looking for careers in media and publication. Our members express keen interests within the fashion, beauty, health, and lifestyle industries! Our meetings are bi-weekly, Tuesday evenings at 7pm, and consist of member involvement opportunity discussions as well as guest speakers who we are inspired to learn from about their careers and how they got to where they are today. In the past we have had speakers who work for Vogue, Revlon, Seventeen Magazine and more! Featured below is our meeting from last semester speaking with Kylee McGuigan, Associate Shopping Producer for Vogue, and we loved learning all about her career and the great advise she gives for navigating post-grad life, achieving career goals, and living in NYC! ??
