Penn Highlands Healthcare is a health system in Pennsylvania that brings together the services of Penn Highlands Brookville, Penn Highlands Clearfield, Penn Highlands Connellsville, Penn Highlands DuBois, Penn Highlands Elk, Penn Highlands Huntingdon, Penn Highlands Mon Valley, Penn Highlands Tyrone and Penn Highlands State College, opening in 2024. Its business continuum also includes two home care agencies, Penn Highlands Healthcare at Home; a full continuum of senior living services, Penn Highlands WRC Senior Services; two long-term care facilities, Penn Highlands Elk Pinecrest Manor and Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor; and a senior residential living facility, Elco Glen. It provides its area's residents with access to the region's best hospitals, physicians, nursing home, home health agencies, medical supply companies and other affiliates who believe that healthcare should be managed by local board members who live and work in the communities they serve. Each facility is the leading employer in its hometown and is rooted deeply in both the popular and economic culture of their communities. The vision is to be the integrated health system of choice through excellent quality, service and outcomes. Many quality services are available in or near every community but additional advanced services may also be available at one of the affiliates. Karin Pfingslter, Penn Highlands Healthcare System Government Relations Director, recently met with Senator Camera Bartolotta to discuss the current issues facing rural healthcare. Senator Bartolotta represents Pennsylvania's 46th Senate District which includes Washington and Greene counties as well as parts of Beaver County. During the meeting, Karin also thanked Senator Bartolotta for her continued support of Penn Highlands Mon Valley which is located in Washington County.

Please join us in welcoming board-certified rheumatologist Marianne Shaw, MD, to the team at Penn Highlands Rheumatology in Tyrone. With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Shaw, a fellowship-trained specialist, provides highly skilled care for patients with musculoskeletal diseases and systemic autoimmune conditions. There are many treatment options now available in rheumatology, and Dr. Shaw uses the latest innovations to improve her patients’ quality of life. Dr. Shaw is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. She completed her residency in internal medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, Ohio, and her fellowship in rheumatology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. She is a member of the American College of Rheumatology and American Medical Association.
