The 2024 Nemirovsky Engineering and Medicine Opportunity (NEMO) Prize from Penn Health-Tech has been awarded to David Issadore, Professor of Bioengineering and Electrical and Systems Engineering, and Jake Brenner, Assistant Professor of Medicine, to advance early-stage research in DNA therapy. This $80,000 grant supports interdisciplinary teams tackling ambitious medical challenges. Issadore and Brenner’s work focuses on DNA delivery technology that could enable self-administered, long-lasting treatments for chronic diseases like diabetes, Alzheimer’s and cancer. Using lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and microfluidics, their approach may lead to a powerful DNA therapy platform with wide-ranging applications. Read the story today. https://bit.ly/4fmjyt4
