Did you know that MORE dopamine is produced by your gut than your brain? Plus, our microbiome also makes more serotonin and GABA (not a political slogan). These neurotransmitters then make their way to the brain, from the gut, along the vagus nerve (not to be confused with the Vegas nerve, which is a totally different type of dopamine source). Our very own Dr. Colleen Cutcliffe explains more – plus various other insights, including why owning and hugging a dog is good for your microbiome! – on the latest episode of the Extend Podcast with Dr. Darshan Shah – which is available to listen to and/or watch now (link in comments).

This just in, our co-founder, CEO, and super boss Colleen Cutcliffe has joined The Johns Hopkins University’s Health Advisory Board. Colleen received her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and says that time at Johns Hopkins really shaped her discipline as a scientist. Congratulations, Colleen! But, also, congratulations Johns Hopkins!

Moreover, while there, he will be recognized with the Excellence in Healthcare Award. Adam, congratulations, and thank you for your all-round general excellence – both in healthcare, and out of it. The last time there was this much excellence on-stage in Vegas, the Bee Gees were playing there.
