“Swim with the swimmers, wrestle with wrestlers, march in line with the firemen, and pause, listen, count.” These are the words of poet Walt Whitman in his 1855 “I Sing the Body Electric,” a poem that celebrates the human form’s strength and beauty and our interconnectedness as a species. A different definition of the body electric has emerged recently, one that applies not only to swimmers, wrestlers and firemen, but to all of us. And as with Whitman’s seminal writing, there’s reason to celebrate. Penderia is thrilled to announce that we have received a $1.74M SBIR Phase II Award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to further develop our implantable wireless sensor technology. We appreciate the collaboration from all of our partners to reach this point. This award enables the Penderia team to focus on immediate, exciting milestones to translate research from the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact at the University of Oregon into commercialization!?
