What a fantastic time we had at our inaugural pelvic health event, bringing together an amazing group of women to tackle a topic that affects millions but is too often shhhushed and overlooked. ?? Here’s why this conversation matters: ?? Nearly 50 million women in the U.S. suffer from pelvic floor dysfunction, such as incontinence, painful intimacy, and pelvic pain. ?? These women spend $881M annually on care—a figure set to double in the next 25 years. ???? The lack of education and support costs the U.S. economy over $100M annually, with unnecessary ER visits and readmissions driving up costs. ?? The CDC reports that 27% of hospital readmissions could be avoided with better patient education. The Solution: Preventive health education. For every $1 invested, it delivers a 14-to-1 ROI, reducing costs, improving outcomes, and easing the burden on providers and insurers. That’s where Peli Health comes in. Our digital health platform empowers women with MD reviewed & approved education, support, and care they need, tackling one of healthcare’s biggest challenges head-on. ?? A huge thank you to our co-hosts: ?? Isabella Bablumian of Imbody Wellness, for a calming and restorative movement session. ?? Dr. Pam Downey, DPT, and Peli Health advisor, for her engaging fireside chat on breaking myths and helping us all better understand the importance of pelvic health. It was inspiring to see the power of community and shared knowledge in action. Here’s to continuing the conversation and empowering women with the tools and education they need to thrive. ??? #PelvicHealth #WomensHealth #PreventiveCare #HealthLiteracy #PeliHealth

?? The #femtech sector is expanding rapidly, and its potential to revolutionize women's healthcare is undeniable. By focusing on affordability, access, and innovation, femtech is closing gaps in current healthcare models, driving better health outcomes, and paving the way for a more equitable future in healthcare. ?? The potential for investors and innovators to make a lasting impact is huge. This shift is aligned with the growing public dialogue around women’s health. ??In fact, closing the women's health gap could add $1 trillion to the global economy annually by 2040 (World Economic Forum & McKinsey Global Institute). ?? Stigma is the #1 reason women avoid seeking help for pelvic health issues, which affect 1 in 3 women, yet addressing these challenges can improve workplace productivity and overall well-being. With women now spending more years in post-reproductive life than reproductive, prioritizing health across all stages has never been more important. ?? Pelihealth invites investors to join us in driving this change. ?? Join our exclusive event hosted by the incredible Bridgette L. Smith ??, where we will present our solution to improve women's pelvic health. We will also be joined by the incredible Private Packs and their innovative solution for intimate health. Together, we can make a lasting impact! ?? Mark your calendars for the Women's Health Showcase (Oct 8). Scan the QR code on the image or RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/eZ6_bP24 ?? Can’t attend? I help women's and LGBTQ+ health companies share their science in compassionate, approachable language.

Hello! I’m Caitlyn, and I talk about pee, poop, and sex for a living ?? I have a gift for making awkward conversations less awkward and more light-hearted, and I love helping others feel more comfortable talking about health concerns that are often seen as taboo. A few weeks ago, I promised that I would be sharing more about what I do as a #clinicalconsultant for #womenshealth, #lgbtqhealth, and #femtech companies…but I got a little distracted. ?? So in the spirit of a new month (and quarter!) ahead, here we go again! Here’s another example of how I do what I do: A few months ago, I joined forces with Kerstin Recker Alexandre and Helen Grimshaw of Pelihealth to review version 1 of their product, an educational platform for people living with #pelvichealth problems. Pelihealth’s founders have built an incredible, supportive community for folks struggling with urinary #incontinence, #postpartum pelvic floor weakness, painful sex, and much more ?? As a #clinicalconsultant for Pelihealth: ???I reviewed the existing content on their platform, identifying small errors and making suggestions to improve clarity. ??I highlighted gaps where the platform could provide more information and places where it could stand to simplify things. ??I identified places in which the info in the platform could be in danger sounding as if it was trying to diagnose people (rather than educate and empower them to talk with their healthcare providers). I offered suggestions to change the wording to communicate the important points more clearly. ???I suggested areas into which they may consider expanding in the future: new topics to address and new ways to structure their content to appeal to many learning styles. Kerstin Recker Alexandre and Helen Grimshaw have been hard at work implementing many changes to make Pelihealth better for the people it serves. I’m incredibly excited to see where their product goes next! ? This project was a ton of fun for me, and I love helping growing organizations like Pelihealth develop scientifically accurate information and products. ?? Are you ready to take your femtech or queer health company to the next level? I help women's and LGBTQ+ health companies share their science in compassionate, approachable language.

More data isn’t always better, especially in #healthcare. Information overload is a major problem in modern healthcare. According to a recent survey from electronic health record (EHR) provider athenahealth: ?????80% of #physicians felt that more data wouldn’t necessarily allow them to provide better care. ???Over 60% feel increasingly overwhelmed and stressed by incoming health data. Primary literature research on electronic health data demonstrates that #healthcare providers are facing more clerical tasks, more clicks, and more metrics-monitoring…and all of this detracts from the time they can spend interacting directly with their #patients (Koon, 2021). If you’ve ever tried to share your FitBit data or #period tracker with your provider, you may have felt that they were disinterested, or even worse, dismissive. In the vast majority of cases, this isn’t because they don’t want to learn from your meticulous tracking efforts. They simply don’t have the time or capacity to look at another disorganized database. I recently chatted with Pelihealth founders Helen Grimshaw and Kerstin Recker Alexandre about this exact issue and how patients can address the challenges that digital tracking creates. The key takeaway? ???Use the synopsis or report features in your app or device. If your tracking tool offers a visual representation of data in simple graph form, THAT is what you should be showing your doctor. Make it easy for them! ???? If you’re a #femtech founder or innovator building an app or platform for #femalehealth, the message is the same: make your data output quick and easy to understand. If I can’t get the gist in 15 seconds or less, it isn’t simple or clear enough. Check out the video clip from our conversation on your favorite social platform - IG link below ?? https://lnkd.in/gmPaMyx6 #healthtech #womenshealth #lgbtqhealth #womenshealthmatters #womxn #medicalprofessional #clinicalconsultant ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hey there!
