Ten years ago we were in a dark place. We felt overwhelmed, exhausted and alone, as what once felt like a calling (foster care) had turned into something scary. We had added two children to our home through an unplanned adoption and life was immediately turned upside down and inside out. The traditional parenting methods that worked well with our biological children failed us. We lost friends, confidence and nearly lost our faith.
It was at our lowest point that we were thrown a lifeline. We discovered Trust-Based Relational Intervention & we felt a glimmer of hope. It was the beginning of a journey that we are still on today. We created The Pearl Project to be the organization we needed in our darkest season with the mission to help families like ours see the beauty in their hard work.
When we started six years ago, we honestly were not sure what would happen and if there would be a need for what we were offering. Here we are today and there’s no doubt about the need. The demand for what we do continues to grow as we deal with the impact of COVID, an opioid epidemic and a culture that is chronically disconnected.
Thank you to everyone who has given over the years. Because of your generosity, we have grown a thriving education wing, but there is still so much more work to do. We are currently developing our therapeutic wing to provide deeper support to families. Can you help us do just that?
There’s still time to give to the Give4Marion campaign. We have raised over $25,000 that will go to provide hope and healing to families in their darkest hour. Our goal is to raise $25,000 more today!
