High follower counts aren't essential -- 59% have less than 50k followers (aka micro influencers). 2?? It's not just football and basketball -- 50% of sponsored athletes came from other sports. 3?? It's not about striking a pose -- engagement is better with natural, authentic, candid posts. 4?? The mix of posts lean toward sports -- corporate sponsors prefer a high ratio of sports to non-sports content. 5?? The chosen athletes avoid suggestive/sexualized imagery -- brands are hoping to reach young audiences as well as parents, grandparents and others.
