We are pleased to announce the publication on PrTMS? for the treatment of Autism in the Journal of Personalized Medicine. Autism spectrum condition (ASC) is a neurodevelopmental condition that is only partly responsive to prevailing interventions. ASC manifests core challenges in social skills, communication, and sensory function and by repetitive stereotyped behaviors, along with imbalances in the brain’s excitatory (E) and inhibitory (I) signaling. We report an open-label clinical pilot (initial) study in which ABA-treated ASC persons (n = 123) received our personalized rTMS protocol (PrTMS). PrTMS uses low TMS pulse intensities and continuously updates multiple cortical stimulation locales and stimulation frequencies based on the spectral EEG and psychometrics. No adverse effects developed, and 44% of subjects had ASC scale scores reduced to below diagnostic cutoffs. Importantly, in PrTMS responders, the spectral EEG regression flattened, implying a more balanced E/I ratio. Moreover, with older participants, alpha peak frequency increased, a positive correlate of non-verbal cognition. PrTMS may be an effective ASC intervention, offering improved cognitive function and overall symptomatology. This warrants further research into PrTMS mechanisms and specific types of subjects who may benefit, along with validation of the present results and exploration of broader clinical applicability. https://lnkd.in/gVf--gU8 #prtms #personalizedmedicine #autism #asd

We are excited to announce that an upcoming clinical trial with Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine has been made public in the National Library of Medicine. The objective is to assess the efficacy of PrTMS? therapy in reducing pain for military health system beneficiaries with chronic neck pain and to describe participants' perceptions of PrTMS? treatment and its perceived effect on their pain. #prtms #tmstherapy #personalizedmedicine #chronicpain

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) affects 1 in 36 children (US Centers for Disease Control) and refers to an array of neurodevelopmental disorders that have recognizable core deficits in common, including the expression of repetitive stereotyped behaviors and difficulties in terms of social interaction and communication. The pathogenesis of this disorder is highly complex and incompletely understood, and a plethora of advanced molecular biological, genetic, and epigenetic studies have not translated into any treatment modality or working biomarkers for guiding front-line therapy. We hypothesize that a comprehensive, personalized form of spectral EEG guided repetitive transcranial magnetic?stimulation that we term PrTMS?, can normalize alpha EEG oscillations, E/I balance, and dopaminergic reward?signaling, to facilitate improved psychosocial behavior. #prtms #ASD #personalizedmedicine Please keep an eye out for additional data and publication(s) on PrTMS? therapy for ASD.
