Dan Leonard has called City of Peachtree Corners home for the past 42 years, working in the IT field, building a strong community of personal and professional connections and leading the local Bikes and Friends Cycling Club. ?? ??♂? Most recently, he wrote and released his first book — a memoir titled “The Extraordinary Lives of Ordinary People” — adding ‘published author’ to his list of accomplishments. ?? Drawing on the physical challenges Dan faced (and overcame) while growing up, as well as inspiration from others, the book dives into themes of resilience and personal growth while painting a vivid picture of his family life in New England during the 60s and 70s. Through personal narrative, he takes readers on a thought-provoking journey through his childhood and adolescence, sharing “formative experiences that were shaped by his Italian-American and Irish-German heritage.” Dan spoke with us recently about his memoir, sharing his thoughts on the writing process, lessons learned and his future plans. Cassidy Bass Jones, owner of LOL Burger Bar, was recently recognized as one of Savannah State University's inaugural 40 Under 40 award recipients, which recognizes the contributions of individuals who have excelled in their respective fields before the age of 40. Driverless Rides Have Arrived! ?? May Mobility has officially launched its first commercial driver-out autonomous transportation service in City of Peachtree Corners. This marks their third driverless deployment in the U.S. and the first commercial operation of its kind. Passengers can now ride in fully autonomous Toyota Sienna Autono-MaaS vehicles along Technology Parkway, with stops at hotels, restaurants, retail shops, and City Hall. The Peachtree Corners Business Association (PCBA) continues their philanthropic work with an annual scholarship opportunity for local high school seniors who demonstrate community spirit and initiative and meet the requirements. The scholarship program was established to raise awareness among high school students of the need to give back to the local community and their school. ?? Applications are now being accepted for the 2024-2025 Student Scholarship Program. The PCBA will award one $1,000 scholarship to a deserving graduating high school senior. ??
