In Week 7 of the Georgia Tech Real Estate Club’s Analyst Program, students learned the fundamentals of development, from initial concept and feasibility analysis to construction, leasing, and eventual sale or long-term financing. They also explored the financial, legal, and risk management aspects of development, including entitlement processes, budgeting, contract types, and project delivery methods. ? We also hosted a panel discussion with professionals from Peachtree Group. Thank you to Will Woodworth, Caroline MacRae, and Will Schnorr for sharing their experiences across acquisitions, private credit, and investments. Their conversation provided a valuable overview of the hospitality sector of the real estate industry, covering market outlook, current trends, and financial considerations. We appreciated the opportunity to gain key insights from a leading Atlanta real estate investment firm and deepen our understanding of the sector’s challenges and potential for growth.

This past weekend 5 of our Hospitality Management students had the opportunity to work as student volunteers for the 2025 Hunter Conference in Atlanta. They had the opportunity to network with other schools and industry professionals in hotel investment, such as Peachtree Group and their Chief of Staff Becki Cohen. Expanding Opportunity Zones: A Path to Growth in Hospitality and Housing The Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Scott Turner, recently emphasized the transformative impact of Opportunity Zones—lifting one million people out of poverty, driving business creation and helping address the housing crisis. At Peachtree Group, we've long recognized the power of Opportunity Zones in catalyzing economic growth. We have been one of the most active hotel developers in these designated areas. Since 2018, we have opened 10 hotels with another five currently under construction and three in the pipeline. Our investments in hospitality within these zones don't just create new hotels; they generate jobs, attract capital and drive sustainable development in communities that need it most. As the Opportunity Zone program continues to expand, the hospitality sector has a crucial role to play.
