Since 2019, I’ve had the privilege of attending the Utah Nonprofits Association’s yearly conference, beginning with co-presenting a session on Empowering Leadership Strategies: Breaking Down Barriers to Transparency & Collaboration. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to have served on the steering committee for the past two years, collaborating with Alison Anderson to shape the planning and vision of this meaningful event. This year felt particularly special. I had the pleasure of attending alongside remarkable leaders from Peace House, where we are honored to serve survivors in our community. Donna Murray-Brown’s keynote on moving from empowerment to embodiment and fostering community through connection not just proximity was deeply inspiring. Dr. Timothy Shriver’s message on prioritizing dignity over contentment resonated with the core values we strive to uphold in our work. I’m incredibly proud to be part of such a dedicated community of nonprofits and grateful for the Utah Nonprofits Association’s ongoing commitment to innovation and intentionality. We were so happy to meet Dr. Susan R. Madsen at UCASA's 10th Annual UT Sexual Assault Conference! Madsen is a leading academic and leadership expert, known for her extensive work on women's leadership and empowerment. She is also the founder of the Utah Women & Leadership Project, which aims to strengthen the impact of women in Utah and beyond.

Peace House was recognized as 1 of the 100 businesses in Utah Championing Women in the Workplace. It’s a great honor to be part of the 2023/2024 cohort. Thank you to the Governor’s Office on Economic Development for this recognition, and much gratitude for the amazing team of women (and men) I work alongside at Peace House!
