Sphere provides technology to banks and merchants that calculates the estimated CO? emissions from an individual’s consumption. The Carbon Insight and Action Solution educates consumers of the impact of their consumption on the environment and provides hints and tips for consumers to make better informed decisions. The solution also offers the option for consumers to – seamlessly and in real time – purchase CO? offset credits for any remaining CO? emissions. These credits will be associated with a CO? offset project that the consumer feels most associated with, enabling everyone to ‘live a carbon neutral life’. Lobbying rules need to be enforced to ensure transparency and good government. Unfortunately this is not always the case. Check out the piece in today's The Sydney Morning Herald #Government #Lobbying Gabby Taylor Warwick Ponder Brad Kelly Michael Sainsbury
Insightful piece by David Crowe about #lobbyists in today's The Sydney Morning Herald, raising questions about how effectively the current rules are policed, and who isn't registered or regulated. I agree strongly with Eamonn Fitzpatrick's comments: “So, governments must make sure all professional advisers interacting with the public sector and looking to achieve a commercial or policy outcome are subject to the same level of regulation. That has to include in-house lobbyists and other professional services firms.” David Quilty stresses the importance of compliance and enforcement of the fundamental rules that requires all lobbyists to register, disclose their clients and only talk to government ministers and officials after revealing these details. “That rule is a very good rule, but it needs to be enforced and complied with, so there are repercussions for those who don’t comply." Hear hear. Unfortunately we know this is not always the case on the hill. https://lnkd.in/gT9N4hva #Government #Influence pCOMZ Communications & Advisory Gabby Taylor

Great to work with Jeroen van Son and the team at Sphere on their brand launch today, along with research and equity partner Swinburne University of Technology. As reported in IT Brief, Sphere aims to help people take personal action on #climatechange. It uses payments data to assess their carbon footprint, while also enabling offsets in eco-friendly projects. https://lnkd.in/g_rDRxCT ? Sphere is targeting more than 6.5 m tonnes of CO2 to be offset by 2027 and is already working with the likes of Visa, Public Bank and Maybank. ? Focusing on household consumption makes sense because it's responsible for about 70% of carbon emissions.
