It was great to see so many Princeton University alumni, students, family, faculty, and staff at our Annual Reception on July 26th. It was a great pleasure for PCI to be sending off Indian students to Princeton for Fall 2024. It was also a great opportunity to network with each other and to highlight the contributions of the Princeton community to the University and beyond.
In case you missed the Reception, here’s a quick recap! On Friday at The Oberoi, we hosted:
????The Princeton Global India Summer Research Symposium, co-sponsored with CGI (Chadha Centre for Global India). CGI Director Dr. Anu Ramaswami shared the vision and activities undertaken by CGI in India and highlighted the unique Princeton Startup Immersion Programme (PSIP) based out of Bengaluru this summer.
????PSIP students shared their experiences during their internship period this summer and the opportunities they saw in the Indian market.
????Akash Kapur (Author and Research Fellow) and Sashank Rishyasringa (co-founder of Axio) sparked a stimulating conversation on Digital Public Infrastructure in India and how it has spurred growth in startups. It was thought-provoking and deeply insightful!
????Vinay Sitapati (Associate Dean and Professor of Law and Politics, Shiv Nadar University) engaged with us on his upcoming book “India Rules and the Indian Diaspora.” We hope to see his book on the racks soon!
????Fauzia Farooqi, Lecturer in South Asian Studies at Princeton University, presented her fascinating work on creating digital archives of traditions in India.
????Last but not least, Suman K. Bery (VC, Niti Aayog) graced the occasion with his presence and engaged with us on everything policy and the future of India.
As always, it was a beautiful day spent well in the company of fellow Tigers, reminding us of the best place of all: good old Nassau! Thank you for coming out and sharing your stories of grit, creativity, endurance, challenge, and the quest to make an indelible difference in your own unique ways!
Lastly, we wish the very best to the Class of 2028! We hope our efforts to introduce you to the "locomotive" left you feeling embraced by our Princeton family. As you embark on your journey to Princeton, know that PCI is roaring with pride because of you! Welcome aboard, Tigers!
