Last Saturday, our community came together to bring a youth-led vision to life and paint the street on NE 131st between Prescott and Shaver in Portland! 40 talented students showed up to lead the way on this stunning street mural, along with countless community members, neighbors, partners, and staff. We're so grateful for everyone who helped us 'Think Outside the Box for Our Blocks' to reduce gun violence in our neighborhood through creative place-making! We just released our first-ever Portland Bureau of Transportation Safe Routes to School Program Summary report! This report is more than just a summary of the work our program (and many, many partners!) accomplished in the 2023-24 school year to help kids and their families walk, bike, and roll to and from their school and around their neighborhoods. It’s also a collection of dozens of inspiring stories that tell how people in Portland are making their streets safer, their communities healthier, and their lives more enjoyable.?
