Honoring Our Heroes on Veterans Day On Veterans Day, we pay tribute to the brave men and women who have selflessly served in our nation's armed forces. Let's take a moment to explore the history and significance of this special day. Veterans Day is a federal holiday observed on November 11th of each year to honor all of America's veterans who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Today, we celebrate and give thanks to all veterans for their service, sacrifices, courage, patriotism, and love of this country. Veterans Day is linked to the "Great War" or World War I, which ended on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918. Originally, the holiday commemorated the armistice or cease-fire day that ended World War I between the Allies and Germany. President Wilson commemorated this day as Armistice Day on November 11, 1919. Armistice Day officially was ended by President Dwight Eisenhower in 1954, and it became Veterans Day to commemorate American veterans of all wars. As we commemorate this day, we express our deepest gratitude to veterans for their service, valor, and resilience. We recognize the transferable skills and qualities they bring to the workforce. California Government Code section 12940 makes it unlawful for an employer to discriminate against or harass an employee because of their military or veteran status. In the unfortunate circumstance where veterans are subjected to discrimination or harassment in the workplace, our firm takes tremendous pride in advocating on their behalves. If you worked in California and believe you were subjected to discrimination or harassment at work because of your military or veteran status, contact us for a free case review at (424) 334-3194. We would love to hear from you! #VeteransDay #HonorOurHeroes #Veterans #Military #justice #employment #employeerights #work

A message and endorsement from our Firm's Managing Shareholder, Chantal Payton, Esq. (please note that these are Chantal's personal views and do not necessarily reflect the views of our entire Firm)... ___________________________________________________________________ I am proud to have voted for who l really, really hope will be the first woman President of the United States. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work as a law student intern in the California Attorney General's Office while in law school when Kamala Harris was The Attorney General. She was doing great things then, and will continue to do great things in office as President. She is undeniably qualified and fit for this job, a forward thinker, and truly cares about the people in this country--all people in this country--regardless of their race, religion, national origin, disability status, reproductive health decisions, marital status, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, age, sexual orientation, or veteran or military status. As an employment attorney who has dedicated my career to advocating for people who have been discriminated against for these traits, it is so important to me to elect a President who will continue to uphold, vindicate, and respect the rights of?all,?and who will do so regardless of the individual's political party preferences or political support. Today, I give my support and vote to the candidate who embodies all of these great qualities that our country needs and deserves in a leader...a leader who will not push to strip away basic rights that this country has fought so hard for...a leader who will push to protect the very things that make this country great! #HarrisforPresident #TheLeaderWeNeed #HarrisWaltz2024 #Vote #ElectionDay2024

Today, we commemorate Election Day and reflect on its historical significance and the importance it holds in shaping our future. Election Day, held on the first Tuesday in November, has a rich history rooted in the principles of democracy. It was established as a day for Americans to cast their votes and have their voices heard, ensuring that leaders are chosen through the will of the people. This democratic tradition has been a cornerstone of our nation's identity for over two centuries. Election Day is a reminder of the power vested in each citizen to influence the direction of our country and communities. We encourage all eligible voters to exercise their civic duty, make their voices heard, and participate in the democratic process. Let us remember that democracy thrives when every voice is counted! #ElectionDay #DemocracyMatters #VoteForChange

Today, on Indigenous People's Day, we join the nation in recognizing and celebrating the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Native American and Indigenous communities. This day, observed on the second Monday in October, stands as a powerful symbol of unity and respect for the first inhabitants of this land. Indigenous People's Day originated as an alternative to Columbus Day, shedding light on the devastating impact colonization had on Indigenous peoples while honoring their enduring strength and heritage. It's a day to commemorate their invaluable contributions to our society, from agriculture and medicine to art and language. This Indigenous People's Day, let's take the opportunity to learn, reflect, and appreciate the resilience of Native Americans and Indigenous people. By fostering understanding and respect, we contribute to a more harmonious and inclusive world. ???? #IndigenousPeoplesDay #CulturalHeritage #InclusivityMatters

????? Celebrating LGBTQ+ History Month! ????? Every October, LGBTQ+ History Month shines a light on the rich history and remarkable achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer individuals. This meaningful observance was initiated by Rodney Wilson, a dedicated history teacher at a Missouri high school, back in 1994. The significance of LGBTQ+ History Month was formally recognized the following year when it was added to the list of commemorative months, thanks to a resolution put forth by the General Assembly of the National Education Association. The choice of October was particularly fitting as it already featured National Coming Out Day on October 11, a pivotal day in the LGBTQ+ calendar. October also holds historical significance as it marks the anniversary of the first march for gay rights in Washington, which took place on October 14, 1979. At our firm, we've had the privilege of fiercely advocating for countless LGBTQ+ employees who have been subjected to discrimination and harassment in the workplace. California Government Code Section 12940 makes it unlawful for employers to discriminate against or harass employees based on their "sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, [or] sexual orientation." We are truly grateful to serve as advocates for those who have faced unequal treatment simply because of their LGBTQ+ identity. This LGBTQ+ History Month, let’s celebrate the progress and achievements that have been made to protect the LGBTQ+ community and continue to strive for a more inclusive and equal society. ?????? #LGBTQHistoryMonth #EqualityForAll #ProudAdvocates
