?? We were delighted to welcome Professor Kathy Mills from Australian Catholic University (ACU) Brisbane to Münster from January 13-17, 2025. As an internationally renowned expert in literacies and XR technologies in education, Prof. Mills shared invaluable insights with our PAX team and students. Highlights included her compelling guest lecture "Transmediation in Language Learning with XR Technology" at the Department of English, and a recorded video lecture on "Critical?Literacy for XR Tech and Generative AI." Her pioneering work on haptic dimensions of XR-enhanced language learning bridges crucial gaps between theory and practice. As our external reviewer, Prof. Mills provided vital feedback that will help shape PAX's future directions. Today we have the immense pleasure to welcome Kathy Mills as guest lecture as part of our lecture series in the Master of Education programme and the PAX project. This week we have the immense pleasure to welcome Kathy Mills at the University of Münster. She will be advising us on the PAX project, on the immense opportunities of VR in language education and literacy learning and teaching. It's wonderful to finally have you here, Kathy!

?? PAX Visits NTU & NIE in Singapore ?? As part of our mission to explore cutting-edge educational technologies, the PAX project recently had the privilege of visiting Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and the National Institute of Education (NIE) in Singapore. ?? Key Highlights: ? Engaging discussions with Fun Siong Liam, Head of the Centre for Applications of Teaching & Learning Analytics for Students at NTU, and Wen Yun from NIE’s Learning Sciences & Assessment Department. They shared inspiring insights into their work with XR and AI in education and their transformative potential for teaching and learning. ? A tour of the innovative LIBytes space in the NIE Library, designed to bridge education and technology. This unique space enables students and staff to explore VR, AR, and AI-enabled robotics and envision their applications in classrooms of the future. ?? Special thanks to Adeline Seow for her exceptional hospitality and seamless organisation. Her efforts ensured the visit was not only productive but also an unforgettable experience. ?? EuroXR 2024 & Erasmus+ Sister Projects Meeting | Athens, Greece ???? From 27 to 29 December 2024, the University of Münster, in collaboration with our partners from the University of the Aegean, proudly showcased the PAX project at the 21st International EuroXR Conference in Athens. ? A Highlight The conference featured the first in-person meeting of the Erasmus+ Sister Projects network, initiated by the Alliance4XR project. This collaborative network unites four Erasmus 2027 Innovation Alliance initiatives: ? Alliance4XR ? Metaverse Academy ? Digital Twin ? PAX These projects share a common goal: advancing XR and Digital Twinning for a sustainable, innovative future in education and industry. ?? We also had the privilege of meeting with our partners from DTMH, strengthening collaborations for future endeavors. ?? A big thank you to EuroXR 2024 for organizing such an inspiring event and to Alliance4XR for driving the Erasmus+ Sister Projects initiative forward. Innovative teaching and learning approaches through XR technologies: The PAX project as a pioneer of digital transformation in education At the second PAX face-to-face meeting, held from October 7-8, 2024, in Olomouc, Czech Republic, we had the opportunity to discuss exciting progress in the PAX project. A big thank you goes to all the participants and to Alena and Ondrej for the excellent organization and warm hospitality in Olomouc. ?? Key outcomes of the meeting: * Progress in XR technology development: We discussed the advancements in integrating XR into the education sector, focusing on immersive learning environments that enhance student engagement and creativity. * Collaborative development: We aligned our efforts in creating practice-oriented XR solutions that address specific educational needs and bring innovative teaching practices to life. * Next steps: The meeting laid the groundwork for upcoming XR workshops and the development of didactic models that will be tested with students and teachers.
