Team Pawprint are proud to be a BCorp and support other BCorps. But it really comes to life when you feel the sense of community around the movement. If you’re interested in finding out more for your own company, do let your friendly Pawprinter know - we are committed to helping to grow the community.
A fun and uplifting day of stories, workshops and connections at yesterday’s B Lab UK shindig here in Edinburgh. I chaired a brilliant panel on Tech For Good with so much energy and insight from Katherine Gunderson, DBA, Emma Walford and Irene Mazzei, PhD. Thanks and kudos to you all. Also enjoyed cracking talks from Brewgooder’s Alan Mahon, CONNECT THREE’s COLIN LAMB Chart. MCIPD and more. Particularly enjoyed MICHAEL CUSACK’s funny storytelling style combined with a highly innovative, engineering-led approach to sustainability. Key takeaways: 1. The #BCorp community is alive and kicking here in northern Britain and has grown tremendously - fascinating to hear about its early days here Fran van Dijk and kudos to you! Exciting also to learn about the Edinburgh BCorp 500 initiative Jayne Saywell and love the motivation of creating great employers for our kids! 2. Perspective is everything (thank you Amy Clarke (pictured)for an inspiring talk): this is so important to people in sustainability/business for good. We have to stay open minded and understand how we complement others’ narratives. 3. Technology is to be embraced - yes there are concerns about the environmental impact of ai, for example: but we need to be pragmatic and see the bigger picture. Hope everyone else enjoyed it and keep fighting the good fight!
