"From a boots-on-the-ground perspective in the addiction treatment and clinical SUD services arena, topics like burnout and staff turnover seem to loom large. And do so consistently over time. Perhaps some of the material in this monograph can provide a fresh look at upstream influences that are worth considering, if only for reasons such as those." ~Brian Coon Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/ezgF8_rT #clinicalsupervision #mentalhealth #addictionrecovery #substanceusedisorder Photo Credit: Jennifer Delmarre: Unsplash Learn more about Pavillon here: https://www.pavillon.org/

This past week we have focused on getting all systems on our campus ready for business so Pavillon can re-open following the devastation of Western North Carolina from Hurricane Helene. This journey has been challenging. We have maintained a diligent focus on our staff and patients and remain committed to our mission. The Pavillon Outpatient Services are now fully operational and currently accepting referrals. Staff will return to campus Tuesday, October 15th. The Residential and PHP patients that were evacuated during the event will be returning to Pavillon over the course of three days; from Wednesday, October 16th,?to Friday, October 18th. New admissions will be accepted starting Saturday October 19th. Our Admissions Staff have continued to accept calls and screen potential admissions throughout this week. They are now able to schedule those in need of residential treatment. Phones and internet are in place on our Pavillon campus, but slight delays in our responses can be anticipated as we adjust to new systems. Your patience during this process is appreciated. We are grateful for the outpouring of support that has helped us sustain hope during this pause. So many people who have been touched by Pavillon, our alumni, and our staff, have reached out with kind words and donations.?Thank you all! As we move forward , I will keep you informed of Pavillon's progress with a final update at the end of next week. In gratitude and appreciation, Barbara Bennett, CEO Learn more about Pavillon here: https://www.pavillon.org/ (Photo by Tim Mossholder on Unsplash)

The recovery efforts are well underway at Pavillon. Our Facilities and IT staff have been diligently working to prepare for the return of staff and patients. The campus water systems are working and we await final health department and state approvals for safe use. Phone and internet systems continue to be a challenge, but we have options that we anticipate will be installed and working by early next week. The campus never looked better, now starting to color with the approaching Fall season. All in all, we are fortunate to have limited damage and such an awesome staff who have creatively worked miracles to prepare for re-opening. Our plans are to bring staff back to the campus on Tuesday, October 15th, for final preparation to receive patients starting on Wednesday, October 16th. We will start with the patients on Leave of Absence (LOA), staggering their return to the campus over 2-3 days. Once the LOA patients have returned, we will then begin to admit new patients. All patients returning from LOA will be notified by our staff with instructions on the return process. We established this plan barring any unforeseen complications that could arise. Our ultimate goal is to safely open our campus and start serving our current and future patients and their families. I am happy to report that our Outpatient Services are now in full operation. The staff who provide those services have reconnected with our outpatients, and began providing services this week. The Outpatient Services continue to be virtual, allowing us the opportunity to restart with some ease. Our Pavillon Greenville Outpatient Office is fully operational and will be open to alums in that area for meetings. Anticipating this return to our campus and complete return to our mission of providing hope, healing and lasting recovery to those in need is humbling. The commitment, compassion, and generosity of our staff and alums, and others who are assisting us has been incredible, and exemplifies the core qualities of Pavillon and all those who are connected. There are gifts in this natural disaster….the gift of re-establishing values and commitments; the understanding of our frailty and yet seeing our resilience and strengths; and the gift of being part of a truly caring Pavillon family. This most difficult time has brought these gifts to light. I plan to provide the next update on Friday, and hope that we will be able to report continued progress towards our planned opening next week. In the meantime, stay safe, and stay in touch. With hope and gratitude, Barbara Bennett, CEO Learn more on our website: https://www.pavillon.org/

An update from Barbara Bennett our CEO: Dear Friends, We have POWER at Pavillon! The power came on late Thursday afternoon. Now begins the process of restoring all of our internal systems, and anxiously awaiting internet and communication services. Our Facilities staff are on the campus assessing needs for critical resources such as water, waste water system, and our chiller--which provides our air conditioning and heat. Outside resource agencies for these systems have been notified in anticipation of completion of restoration and obtaining?approval as required for these services prior to bringing patients back to campus. The timeline for re-opening is soon, although we do not have an exact date. We hope that it will be next week, pending any unforeseen challenges.?Time will tell. In the meantime, please do not come to the campus.?We will keep you informed of our progress through these updates, including when the campus is open to staff and then to our patients. Stay safe and stay tuned for future updates.?Please share this message with others who may have limited access to communication venues. In gratitude, Barbara Bennett, CEO
