Pause Studio转发了
Hi all… I'm thrilled to share some big personal and professional news today. After months of preparation,?Nicole Russell?and I are taking a major leap: this January, we're opening?Pause West Des Moines, a modern recovery studio at the corner of Jordan Creek Parkway & University Ave. We’re halfway through construction, and we can't wait to show you what we’ve been building. Pause Studio?was founded in 2016 by?Jeff Ono and John Klein, who encountered a troubling truth while building Equinox, a luxury fitness and lifestyle brand. They observed that?so many Americans are chronically overbooked, overburdened, burned out—and desperately searching for ways to *simply feel better*. So they created Pause—a sanctuary where people running on empty could regularly come to fill themselves up through science-backed services including contrast therapy, cryotherapy, flotation therapy, LED light beds, and IV treatments. When Nicole and I began exploring franchise opportunities, Pause wasn't on our radar. But hearing Jeff speak on a podcast about their vision resonated deeply with us—we were struggling to balance demanding careers, raising young kids, and maintaining our marathon training regimens. We were active and healthy, but always too busy and beat up. After experiencing Pause’s California studios firsthand, we were hooked. As our grand opening nears, I'm excited and overwhelmed—but mostly I'm grateful. Grateful for this opportunity. Grateful to be doing this alongside Nicole. Grateful to Jeff and John for building an extraordinary business. Grateful, but also, a little uncertain. The questions that keep me up at night are the same ones every new business owner faces: Will people understand what makes Pause different? Can we build the kind of sanctuary we envision? Will we connect with the people who need what Pause offers? Thankfully, Nicole and I aren’t alone. We’ve hired the incredibly talented?Sheila Oliver?as our Operations Integration Manager to help us launch before turning it over to a full-time General Manager. Having worked with Sheila at John Deere, I've seen firsthand how she makes every team better through her attention to detail and genuine care for people. I know she'll do the same at Pause. Speaking of Deere, I should clarify that, while Pause is an investment in the future, my career remains with Deere. In fact, if Pause succeeds, it will be in no small part because of the deep experience I’ve had at Deere and the wisdom I've absorbed from countless mentors over the past 15 years. Nicole and I are so looking forward to the next few months, but we’re also stepping into uncharted territory. So if you're curious about wellness, entrepreneurship, or just enjoy watching someone figure things out in real time, I'd love to have you follow along (hit the Substack link in the comments ??) . More soon…?
