We’re excited to see the Slate Upper School coming to life! Serving grades 7-12, the new building offers flexible classrooms, labs, and collaboration spaces, all while embracing its natural surroundings. Students cross a pedestrian bridge over wetlands to reach this light-filled campus, designed to promote a healthy, innovative learning environment. We recently visited the site with photographer Ian Christmann ?? and can’t wait to share the final shots! ????? Special thanks to the teams from SLR, Girard & Co Engineers, CES, Gorecki Design Associates, and Gilbane for helping bring this vision to life. #SchoolDesign #SustainableArchitecture #SlateUpperSchool #Makerspace #IanChristmannPhotography #ArchitectureForLearning

Patriquin Architects recently attended a public meeting where we unveiled our design to renovate and restore the Ansonia Opera House, one of Connecticut’s oldest theaters. Principal Architect Paolo Campos and Architectural Designer Aurora Perreault presented our vision to bring new life to the long-shuttered venue while preserving its rich architectural history. Our design introduces modern safety and accessibility upgrades, including fire stairs and elevators, while reorganizing the program to create a more contemporary performance venue that retains the building’s historic character. Working alongside the City of Ansonia and the Kendzierski family, we are proud to help transform this landmark into a vibrant center for arts and community gatherings. We’re excited to launch our Project of the Month series—a chance to revisit some of our most inspiring work and reflect on the impact it continues to have. To start, we’re proud to spotlight Greenwich Academy’s Pre-Connecting building, a dynamic space designed to spark curiosity and nurture growth in young learners. Completed in 2019, the building quickly became a vibrant hub of creativity and exploration. Its flexible classrooms open onto outdoor play areas, nature trails, and gardens that truly come alive in the spring. Plus, the second-floor faculty apartment has played a key role in building a strong, connected school community. We’re incredibly proud of how this project supports both students and educators every day, and we can’t wait to share more exciting projects in the months ahead! https://lnkd.in/dvtR9uw6 #ProjectOfTheMonth #DesignExcellence #GreenwichAcademy #EducationalDesign

Our team visited the construction site of a new Passive House residence in Connecticut that we designed for high-performance and sustainable living. The home integrates low-impact water management, triple-pane windows, and natural cedar siding for durability and efficiency. A key feature is an innovative metal roof panel with integrated solar, one of the first installations of its kind in the U.S., designed to generate enough power for the entire home, including batteries and EV charging. Construction is well underway—stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project! #PassiveHouse #SustainableDesign #NetZero #Architecture

We’re back from Thanksgiving break and hitting the ground running at Camp Yankee Trails! Construction is in full swing as we work with the Girl Scouts of Connecticut to create a modern, year-round camp experience. This progress shot highlights the new Dining Hall, featuring exposed timber framing that blends beautifully with the existing structures. Once completed, the expanded space will seat up to 250 diners and include a commercial kitchen to serve campers and guests. Led by Jennifer Shea, AIA, this project is all about designing spaces that bring people together. Stay tuned for more updates! #Architecture #GirlScouts #CampYankeeTrails #DesignForGood #TimberFrame
