Employee Spotlight: Hannah Kratz Hannah Kratz has served in a variety of roles aboard the USS Yorktown since 2006 but became Education's Program Coordinator in 2014. She teaches academic standards-based programs and resources for SC students and teachers and runs professional development programs for SC educators every year. You can find her in her classroom or leading groups students around the museum. We're thankful for all her hard work and dedication!

Patriots Point Development Authority was established in the 1970s to develop a naval & maritime museum on Charleston Harbor with the World War II aircraft carrier, USS YORKTOWN as its centerpiece. Retired Lieutenant Commander Israel has volunteered at our museum since March 2024. With his background in air traffic radar on the USS Essex (CVS-9), it's no surprise that his favorite areas of the ship are the Combat Information Center and Flight Deck.
