A private foundation with two core funding areas - Education and Mental Health
关于我们
The Lee Foundation is committed to having immediate and measurable impact in its core investment areas of education and mental health. In Education, we envision a community where individuals achieve economic self-sufficiency without experiencing undue financial burden. We will achieve this by providing post-secondary scholarships to students pursuing science, technology, engineering, math or mental health. In mental health, our vision is for people living with serious mental illnesses to be engaged and supported members of the community. We will achieve this by strengthening the mental health workforce, investing in community programs and services, advocating for increased public funding and building the mental health literacy of the community.

What happens when people who want to work, contribute, and build stability are locked out of opportunity? Many people with conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and severe depression struggle to maintain employment, not because they lack skills or ambition, but because they lack access to the care and support they need to thrive. The economic impact? A staggering $193.2 billion in lost earnings every year in the U.S. This isn’t just a number—it’s lost opportunities, financial instability, and a system that fails those who need it most. Investing in mental health care isn’t just the right thing to do—it’s an economic necessity. It’s time to prioritize real solutions. #InvestInMentalHealth #EconomicImpact #MentalHealthMatters #SeriousMentalIllness NAMI Peg's Foundation Peter & Elizabeth Tower Foundation Sozosei Foundation Patrick P. Serious mental illness isn’t just a diagnosis—it’s an internal battle that impacts every aspect of life. It affects how people work, maintain relationships, and even manage basic tasks like eating and sleeping. Approximately 1 in 20 U.S. adults experience serious mental illness each year. That’s about 15.4 million people—equal to about 6.0% of the U.S. adult population. Yet, many are left without the care they need. Stigma, lack of access, and inadequate support systems leave too many struggling in silence. It’s time to recognize the weight of SMI and push for real change. #SeriousMentalIllness #SupportSMI #EndTheStigma National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
