A private foundation with two core funding areas - Education and Mental Health
关于我们
The Lee Foundation is committed to having immediate and measurable impact in its core investment areas of education and mental health. In Education, we envision a community where individuals achieve economic self-sufficiency without experiencing undue financial burden. We will achieve this by providing post-secondary scholarships to students pursuing science, technology, engineering, math or mental health. In mental health, our vision is for people living with serious mental illnesses to be engaged and supported members of the community. We will achieve this by strengthening the mental health workforce, investing in community programs and services, advocating for increased public funding and building the mental health literacy of the community.

Thanks to NAMI Buffalo and BestSelf for providing this valuable (and FREE) training to our community.
Community mental health initiatives are crucial as we strive to decrease stigma around mental health and increase mental health literacy. BestSelf Behavioral Health, in partnership with NAMI Buffalo & Western New York, continues to provide a series of Mental Health First Aid Trainings. Our November training is Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA). YMHFA is FOR ADULTS that work with youth, parents, and guardians. This is a free training, lunch is provided, and all are welcome. Every other month we will be hosting a YMHFA training, keep a look out. YMHFA is a 3-year certification for participants that teaches adults how to identify the early signs and symptoms of developing mental health challenges in youth, how to intervene empathetically, and connect with appropriate professional help if needed. Hope to see you there!
