Dr. Rubin Patel is back with another flu myth to keep you informed and prepared this season! ?? Let’s clear up some confusion about how to treat the flu. MYTH TWO: ?? Can antibiotics cure the flu? ?? ? Myth: Antibiotics can treat the flu. ? Truth: The flu is caused by viruses, not bacteria, so antibiotics will not work. There are four types of influenza viruses: A, B, C, and D, but only influenza A and B cause the seasonal flu that spreads widely among humans. Other viruses, like the common cold (caused by rhinoviruses) or respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), can cause similar symptoms, but they are not considered the flu. If you think you have the flu or a similar virus, come into Patient Plus for expert care and advice. We’ll help you get back on your feet and feeling better fast. ?? #Flu #MythBusting #PatientPlus #GetInGetBetter #FluSeason #StayHealthy #Louisiana #Cough #Cold #Wellness #BatonRouge #Urgentcare #Healthcare

Dr. Rubin Patel is here to bust some common flu myths and keep you informed this season! ?? Let's separate fact from fiction so you can stay healthy and prepared. First up: ?? Does cold weather really cause the flu? ?? ? Myth: The flu comes from cold weather. ? Truth: The flu is caused by influenza viruses, not chilly temps! While flu season aligns with colder months, that's because people spend more time indoors, making it easier for the virus to spread. #Flu #Myth #PatientPlus #GetInGetBetter #FluSeason #StayHealthy
