If you're currently job searching, what are you looking for from your next job? This answer changes constantly depending on so many life factors. When I started my current position, I took a PathwayU assessment to reflect on my Workplace Values. My top value was stability, which was no surprise. It highlighted the fact that I just moved across the country and was feeling unstable in just about every aspect of my life at the time, and was looking forward to simply knowing my job, my location, my routine. It also meant that I needed a job that I felt safe and secure in. Knowing your values may help solidify what opportunities are meant for you and I encourage open reflection about this to anyone looking for their next opportunity.

I finally got to meet the students enrolled in the Self, Major, and Career course today. The first meeting was on Zoom due to weather, and as you can imagine, participation was low. Today was much better! We did a deep dive into Pathway U (PathwayU) and with a little push students shared how the assessment helped them to think of careers and career alignment differently. Next week we will talk more about National Association of Colleges and Employers competencies, how to categorize skills listed under careers on Pathway U as competencies, and how students can work to develop them while on campus. #careerdevelopment #careercoaching #highereducation
