Earlier this week, our students experienced Civic Engagement Day, where they gained an in-depth understanding of how local government works! ??? They toured the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office, got registered as Early Voters, and experienced public transportation with a ride on Palm Tran. The day continued with a courtroom session with Judge Bradley Harper, a tour of Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, Palm Beach County, and a Lunch & Learn featuring insights from Verdinia Baker, Alexcia C., Bobby Powell Jr., AICP, and Ed Ferguson. Students even recorded a PSA with Channel 20 and ended the day participating in a mock commission meeting, stepping into roles like mayor, vice mayor, and city board members to debate a real-world issue. Opportunities like these empower students to be informed and engaged citizens—because the future of leadership starts now! Thank you to our friends in the community for hosting our students!
