Individuals with social anxiety commonly experience an intense fear of being judged by others, along with physical symptoms and persistent self-doubt in everyday situations. Our Mental Health Advocate, Eric Dorsa (they/them), recently visited our center in Plano and was reminded of their own transformation in recovery when they came across all of this beautiful artwork. ?? "The butterfly has been a powerful symbol of the strength and vulnerability that are pillars of a recovery journey. Just as a butterfly must struggle to emerge from its cocoon, building the strength in its wings, those on the path to recovery often face their own challenges. This struggle is not a sign of weakness but rather an essential part of growth. These beautiful artworks remind us that while the journey may be tough, it is also a powerful testament to our courage."
