Their efforts led to increased funding through the Surface Transportation and Uniform Relocation Assistance Act of 1987, which was crucial for Idaho's infrastructure. Despite their political differences, Symms and Moynihan collaborated to prioritize Idaho’s transportation needs. Symms championed the importance of federal funding, recognizing how a strong highway system would benefit Idaho’s economy and enhance the quality of life for residents. Thanks to Symms’ advocacy, Idaho received its fair share of funding, helping to build and maintain the highways we rely on today.
