Join us in welcoming longtime Path with Art Teaching Artist, Nikki Visel, as our Director of Executive Administration!
This is an overdue announcement for an overdue (in my humble opinion) rockstar hire. After years of asking, longtime Path with Art Teaching Artist, Nikki Visel joined our staff as Director of Executive Administration. Nikki has been a passionate advocate for the arts in Seattle since 1998, working as an actor, director, teaching artist, and marketing strategist. For over 15 years, she served as Director of Marketing at Taproot Theatre, where she led branding, audience engagement, and strategic planning efforts, achieving notable audience growth and spearheading a post-pandemic recovery campaign that exceeded industry benchmarks. A dedicated Teaching Artist with Path with Art since 2015, Nikki has led acting and personal storytelling classes and served on the Advisory Board. She has also developed curricula, and facilitated workshops in clinical and community settings, most notably her work at Fairfax Psychiatric Hospitals. Now, as a full-time staff member, she will be a wonderful partner to our team, working with me across departments, with a deep knowledge base of the work we do, and the profound effects of arts on health and well-being.

Art isn't simply creative expression—it's a powerful catalyst for personal and community transformation. Through our work at Path with Art, we've documented how artistic engagement empowers individuals through agency, creates new neural connections, and cultivates resilience through creative problem-solving. The practice of art-making fosters a future-oriented mindset and rebuilds self-worth, ultimately strengthening community bonds. Our evidence shows that creative practice doesn't just produce art—it produces change. Join us in exploring how artistic engagement continues to transform lives and communities:?pathwithart.org

Last week Path with Art CEO Holly Jacobson spent time in Washington D.C. convening with Creative Forces. Thank you to Creative Forces, National Endowment for the Arts, and Mid-America Arts Alliance for bringing this creative?community together.?
3 days in DC at the Creative Forces convening. It was lovely to see so many friends from WA State, including presentations from Path with Art friends, teaching artists, and partners ArtsWA / Washington State Arts Commission's Bryan Bales, MSM, the one and only Luz Helena Thompson, and our friends from Seattle Opera and the Museum of Glass' Hot Shop Heroes. Reminded of how important collaboration and connection are in times of overwhelm and challenge. Thanks to Civic Arts and the Creative Forces team for the video below. :-)

"The class got me out of my rut. It has added color to my life. I'm returning to where I began; I began singing when I started talking." When art intersects with social impact, transformative healing begins. Through our programs, participants rediscover their creative voices and find community. This artist's journey back to singing reminds us that creativity isn't just something we do - it's part of who we are. Want to hear more stories of art's transformative power? Thank you to Creative Forces, National Endowment for the Arts, and Mid-America Arts Alliance for supporting and showcasing our work and the stories of our Participant Artists. “I want other veterans to see…that art can help them in ways that go far beyond the medium. It can provide human connection, a community of like-minded people, an understanding of the difficulty others have faced.” – Michelle, U.S. Army veteran and Path with Art participant Watch the full video and learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gx8usigb

Each piece invites viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with both the internal landscapes that shape us and the shared experiences that bring us together.
