We’re thrilled to share some heartwarming news! We’ve recently partnered with Calling London, a charity dedicated to collecting warm coats for homeless charities. With winter approaching, every coat counts in helping vulnerable people stay warm. ?? They have generously pledged 100 coats for our upcoming winter campaign! These will be available for us to distribute along side our care packs, bringing comfort and warmth to those who need it most. Local authorities implement this protocol to offer emergency shelter, aiming to prevent harm or loss of life. While there's no legal requirement for councils to open SWEP shelters, there’s a strong humanitarian call to action—no one should face the elements without protection. This Remembrance Day, we not only honor the bravery of fallen service members but also remember veterans facing homelessness. Shockingly, 5% of those sleeping rough in London are UK veterans*, often struggling with mental health issues and the challenges of returning to civilian life. Organisations like Veterans Aid provide critical support, while groups like Arch Health CIC, and Museum of Homelessness honour those affected by both conflict and homelessness.
