On November 2, 1994, the Tribe was officially re-recognized by the federal government, marking a momentous occasion in its history and beginning a new chapter of self-determination, sustainability, and sovereignty. For countless generations, the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians has called Tehama County and the surrounding lands home. Despite the challenges, our people have held tightly to our Tribal Identity and cultural heritage, even through the loss of federal recognition in 1959. In 1994, after years of unwavering determination, the Paskenta Band regained its status as a federally recognized tribe. Since then, we have worked together to build a resilient economy that supports not only our Tribe but also our greater community. Tomorrow marks 30 years of Tribal Restoration! To celebrate, our Tribal Government staff wore special Restoration shirts today in honor of this milestone. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey, and here’s to the future of our Tribe!

The tribe's support, led by Tribal Chairman Andrew Alejandre, has now raised over $300,000 for Make-A-Wish!
