What an exciting day for the Lake Houston Area!
Today was an exciting day for Generation Park, San Jacinto College and the Lake Houston Area as we attended the ground breaking of the Center for Biotechnology at Generation Park and the Grand Opening of the Biomanufacturing training program at San Jacinto College’s South Campus. This is a regionally transformational venture as this venture will set Generation Park and San Jacinto College as the leader in life sciences. Training will begin at the south campus, but will soon find its home at the Center for Biotechnology when the doors open in Spring 2025, where students will learn to manufacture life savings therapeutics. San Jacinto College and the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT) announced a partnership making San Jac the exclusive provider of NIBRT-licensed training in the southern part of the United States. The new training program, operated to NIBRT’s quality standards globally trusted by pharmaceutical industry leaders, will offer regional biopharmaceutical training for new hires quickly, safely, and for a lower cost and will provide exclusive training for 11 states. This state of the art training facility was designed by industry for industry and will not just be a place for education, but for economic growth as well.

Last year, the City of Humble and city council voted to invest in a retail recruitment strategy and partnered with Partnership Lake Houston’s Chief Economic Development Officer, Stephanie Wiggins to lead this charge. This week, Stephanie and Kyle met with the Retail Strategies team to receive the required marketing materials and learn the ins and outs of retail recruitment. The Retail Strategies team rolled out the red carpet and began making connections, provided vital area demographics and a list of potential retailers to begin targeting. Humble’s growth rate is projected to grow 12.4% over the next 4 years and now is the time to start that retail campaign. It’s going to be an exciting year and we are excited for our partnership with The City of Humble and Retail Strategies! The Retail Academy is a testament to Humble’s dedication to fostering economic growth, job creation, and a thriving retail environment. By proactively addressing the needs of retailers and enhancing the city’s appeal, Humble is positioning itself as a top choice for businesses seeking expansion.
