On November 15, PFGLA CEO Pastor Edward Anderson traveled to Detroit to visit the Detroit People's Food Co-op, a powerful example of Black food sovereignty in action. During his visit, Pastor Anderson learned how organizers came together over 14 years to build a grocery store that reflects their values and needs. He also discussed how margins in a grocery store are shaped by the priorities of the community and emphasized that feeding a community is not just about nutrition—it's an act of revolution. Inspired by this work, we're excited to bring The Garden to Leimert Park. A new grocery store, The Garden will serve as a hub for our community, providing access to healthy, affordable food while empowering local residents. Follow The Garden on Instagram to learn more about our mission to nourish and uplift. #FoodSovereignty #CommunityBuilding #PFGLA #TheGardenLeimert #DetroitPeoplesFoodCoop #LeimertPark
