关于我们
We believe that everyone, no matter their zip code, has the right to access the good food they need to lead a healthy life. That’s why we’re working to create healthier communities through good food. Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA) is the premier national nonprofit founded alongside Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign in 2010. PHA leverages the collective power of the private sector, nonprofits, and government to break down the systemic barriers to nutritious, affordable, and culturally affirming food — and create a food system that supports a better future for us all.

Did you know that in the Mississippi Delta, many families have to travel 60 miles roundtrip to get to a grocery store that offers fresh produce? Through Good Food at Home, we’re making fresh produce more accessible by partnering with local farmers to build health and wealth in the Mississippi Delta. I had a great time chatting with Jordan Schenck on Flashfood The Leftovers Podcast. I shared a bit about my journey in the food security space, discussed Partnership for a Healthier America's mission of making good food accessible to all, and spoke about the importance of good food driving better health. Thank you for hosting such an insightful?conversation with me, Jordan! You can watch the full episode below.
The Leftovers: Episode 2 is out now! We had the absolute pleasure of speaking with Noreen Springstead, President and CEO of Partnership for a Healthier America, a national nonprofit that leverages collective power to create more access to nutritious, affordable, equitable and culturally affirming food. We here at Flashfood are deeply curious about how collective action and partnership work at their best and Noreen is an incredibly insightful leader in that space. It was an honor to grab some of her time for Episode 2. Great chat! Hosted by COO Jordan Schenck, the full episode is available now on YouTube, below ?? https://lnkd.in/egGw6ybw

On November 2nd, Rootswell hosted its second Farmers’ Market at the Higher Purpose Festival in Clarksdale, MS. The market hosted 11 local vendors and farmers from all across the state and featured a pop-up cooking demo by the talented Chef Enrika from Jackson, MS. Festival-goers enjoyed live music, lawn games, a wellness zone, and the opportunity to purchase fresh, local produce using a $10 voucher provided by the festival. Enjoy these photos from the event!

A few weeks ago, our team member Amy Warne, MBA, RD/LD moderated the Indigenous Food Sovereignty Panel at the Indigenous Food Sovereignty Summit in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This collaborative event brought together experts, food providers, and stakeholders to discuss food security and sovereignty in tribal communities. Amy moderated the panel with panelists: Chief Craig Harper (Peoria Nation), Courtney Natseway (College of the Muscogee Nation Extension Educator), Chef Nico Albert (Burning Cedar Sovereign Wellness), and Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin, Jr. (Cherokee Nation). We’re proud of Amy for continuing to highlight the importance of food sovereignty for tribal communities, not just during Native American Heritage Month, but every day. Stay tuned for her blog, where she'll share more about what Food Sovereignty means to her and her community.

Now more than ever, Partnership for a Healthier America is committed to the belief that everyone deserves access to good food – food that’s affordable, nutritious, culturally affirming, and that supports healthy lives. As the country's leadership changes, one thing is for certain: we will continue to stand strong with anyone that is working to champion policies and programs that support food access for families in every zip code across America.
