Last week, Partners in Housing,?Catholic Charities of Central Colorado, and?The Catholic Diocese of Colorado Springs?staff members were recognized for their work anniversary and tenure by Most Reverend James R. Golka! During this 41st annual celebration, four Partners in Housing staff members were honored: ? Megan Brown, 5 years! ? Sandra Ruiz, 1 year! ? Cathy McKinley, 1 year! ? Doc Salter, 1 year! Pictured is Megan, accepting her award! To give background on our relationship, Partners in Housing was founded in 1989 as a branch of Catholic Charities to serve the unique needs of mothers experiencing homelessness in Colorado Springs. As the demand for services continued to grow, Partners in Housing was spun off as a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit in 1991 and transitioned to helping families experiencing homelessness. We still work closely with Catholic Charities and receive support from the Catholic Diocese and are so grateful for these amazing connections in our community. Congratulations to all who were acknowledged!!

We are so appreciative of the incredible Colorado College #volunteers who spent two full days preparing two single-family homes for households entering our #TransitionalHousing program in October! Their hard work included cleaning out trash and debris—especially tackling the heavier items in the basement—painting the inside of a two-story home, and even demolishing kitchen cabinets and removing appliances to prepare for a full kitchen revamp! Thanks to their dedication, these homes are one step closer to providing safe, clean spaces for families to begin their journey toward self-sufficiency. Those who volunteered were from BreakOut, a student organization at Colorado College's Collaborative for Community Engagement that works to connect students to the broader #ColoradoSprings community.
