We are excited to announce that we will be introducing an official end-of-life doula program in partnership with The Peaceful Presence Project. Based in the Partners In Care volunteer department, the end-of-life doulas will be trained Partners In Care volunteers dedicated to providing an additional layer of non-clinical support for patients and families receiving services. As of 2024, only six percent of hospice providers in the United States plan to integrate end-of-life doulas, making this deeply personal, non-medical care a rare yet invaluable addition. This program is the first of its kind in Central Oregon with Partners In Care as the first hospice organization to have trained end-of-life doulas integrated as part of the care teams. 关于我们
Partners In Care is unique among home health and hospice service providers as an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit, managed and operated by executives and medical professionals who live in Central Oregon. The organization is guided by a board of directors with strong connections in the community. As the largest provider of home health and hospice services in Central Oregon, and one of the largest in Oregon, we provide care to communities throughout Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties. Our largely mobile workforce of over 200 employees serves patients and their families in a 10,000 square mile area. About 150 local volunteers work with Partners in Care in fundraising, resource coordination, and other areas of community support. As the name Partners in Care suggests, our multi-disciplinary team not only serves patients and families, but it’s also a valuable partner with other community resources and organizations, coordinating care and meeting a broad spectrum of needs for many population segments. Our services go well beyond a traditional hospice and home health organization. Our commitment is to the full spectrum of care at all stages and ages. We support advanced illness and recovery, to end-of-life care at home and at the Hospice House, and grief support for loved ones following a death. Our non-medical Transitions program helps fill the gaps for people who are medically fragile and need a helping hand or watchful eye. Patients who choose Partners in Care have continual support by an expert and devoted medical team that is the region's most well-respected, referred hospice organization. Our whole-person approach and life affirming philosophy of care guides patients and their families with unparalleled support and medical choices that ensure they get the best care for their unique situation. More hospice patients are referred to Partners in Care than any other hospice service in the area.

November 1 marks the first day of National Care at Home Month, with today being a celebration of all family caregivers. No longer called National Hospice & Palliative Care Month, this new month long national awareness campaign hopes to educate and increase understanding of the continuum of care, especially in the home. Many caregivers become overwhelmed when their loved one is diagnosed with a serious or terminal illness, not knowing where to turn or who to ask for help. Nate Lund shared his perspective on caring for his own wife, "As we worked with Transitions first and then Hospice, and we got a nurse and social worker, they started settling me in to the caregiver role. The nurse taught me everything. It became a very rewarding thing. At first I thought I couldn't do it, but when I look back on it, caring for my wife during this time was the best thing I ever did." Thank you to all family caregivers. Know that Partners In Care is a phone call away to support you and your loved ones. #nationalcareathome #hospice #caregiving #nonprofit National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization
