PEP was founded in the year 2000 on the guiding principle of promoting businesss growth while preserving teh environmental and overall quality of life along the Gulf Coast. Our 200+ members are concerned businesses and organizations - both large and small - who value our unique natural resources and our economy. We understand that the future of our area depends on ensuring a balance between business development and job creation, industrial growth and a healthy environment. Our members include industrial manufacturers, engineering firms, constructors, shipbuilders, banks, personnel companies, environmental consulting, recylcling, educational institutions, industrial suppliers, and much more. PEP Board Member Dr. John W. Steadman has been named a recipient of the University of South Alabama 2024 Asad M. Madni Distinguished Alumnus Award in recognition of his decades of service as a leader in engineering education, in the practice of engineering and in his local community. “The most rewarding aspect of my 50 years in engineering education has been helping students understand how science and math principles can be applied to the very creative process of designing new devices and processes that benefit all of us, sometimes in a transformative way,” Steadman said.
